17:00-19:00 Turku-Rastit (recreational orienteering).

 

Rules

     Finnish Orienteering Federation (SSL) rules are followed.

 

Competition map

     Scale 1:5 000, in six (6) colors, printed in June 2004. SPRINT SYMBOLS in use! Maps are in plastic case and control descriptions are printed into maps.

 

     Map can be seen inside changeover area.

 

Material

     Competition material is available in event centre from 13:30 on. When getting material please announce running order and Emit-numbers of each runner in case of own Emit-cards. All changes to Emit-numbers and running orders must be registered 30 minutes before start latest.

 

Legs

Mixed teams with minimum one girl/woman in team. Two legs for each runner in class HD21.

 

Class HD21, course lengths: 6x1800m (H-D-H-H-D-H).

Class HD44, course lengths: 3x1200m.

 

Controls close to each other, please check the code!

 

Starts and changeover

      Runners are called to start area according to speaker. Checking of Emit-numbers and Emit-clearence should be done early enough before start or changeover. Attention! Emit-card must be cleared both times before own leg in class HD21 and each Emit-card can be used by only one runner! Competitor gets map at the moment of start.

HD44 at 15:30

HD21 at 16:30

 

There is a taped route from last control to finish / changeover. Each competitor punches immediately after finish line when coming to changeover or finish. After punching competitor gives map to the organizers and continues to the map fence, where he/she gives map to the next leg runner.

 

After the changeover and finish, each runner's Emit card will be read by the organizer. If any doubts regarding the punching appears, the runner will be sent on to the Complaints Desk.

Rented Emit cards must be returned to the organizers at the Emit point after the changeover or finish when the team no longer needs the card. Also competition numbers must be returned to the organizers (after both legs in class HD21).

 

     Check your leg and team number from your map as you’ll get it in changeover! Teams running with wrong map will be disqualified. Reserve map is in changeover place. No time bonus in case of getting wrong map / map is missing.

 

     Warm-up allowed between competition centre and parking area.

 

Finish

There is a taped route from last control to finish. . Each competitor punches immediately after finish line. Time of team is measured according to final punch, but in tough cases final order of teams is order when crossing finish line. After final punch competition numbers must be returned to the organizers. Each runner's Emit card will be read by the organizer. If any doubts regarding the punching appears, the runner will be sent on to the Complaints Desk.

 

 Showers and toilet

      Check location of showers in the map of these instructions. Toilets are in competition centre.

 

First aid

      In competition centre near the changeover area.

 

Forbidden areas

     Forbidden areas are marked in competition centre and in the competition map.

 

Mass start for non-finished teams

     Follow the instructions of the speaker.

 

Returning maps

     Maps are returned after ceremonies. Maps can be also posted if agreed in Info.

    

Controls

     You will find a model control and a clearing point for Emit cards in the competition centre. Here, you can study the punching system and check that your own card works.

 

Prizes

     Three best teams in both classes are awarded. Follow the instructions of the speaker.
